All fees in this schedule of charges are in Australian dollars and are GST-inclusive. Export items are GST-free; please refer to the export fee.

Usage Fees - Film and Video Collection
In common with similar institutions, the National Film and Sound Archive charges a fee for the use of materials from its collection. The fee is additional to duplication charges. For material where fees are payable to the copyright owner, this usage fee is waived.
- Rates shown are per second, with a 20-second minimum (10 seconds for TV commercials and Internet usage).
- Minimum fee is payable with transfer costs when footage supplied on broadcast format.
- Material is supplied for the agreed use only.
- Usage periods on application.
Bulk Rates
25% discount after 3 minutes; 50% discount after 6 minutes.
Rates for use of complete programmes are available on request.

Film and video collection material for private use or supplied on time-coded VHS, is exempt from wage fees.

(*1) Regional/metropolitan areas pay only $10.50 per second. Purchase all of the above 5 mediums pay $43 (export fee $40) for one country or $86.50 (export fee $80) world rights per second.
(*2) One state/metropolitan area $108 (export fee $100) per second, 2-3 states $162 (export fee $150) per second.
