NEW RELEASE: The Story of the Kelly Gang (1906) Box Set
The Story of the Kelly Gang

The Story of the Kelly Gang is arguably the first feature-length fiction film ever produced. Originally running at over 60 minutes when it premiered in Melbourne on 26 December, it went on to thrill audiences, first across Australia and then worldwide. Over the past century, however, much of the footage has been lost. After an exhaustive global search and 25 years of painstaking work, the National Film and Sound Archive has collected 17 minutes of the original footage, overseeing a meticulous digital restoration which is presented here for a new generation of viewers.

Included in this specially-produced box set are a DVD featuring multiple versions of the restored footage, and an insightful 208-page monograph written by Kelly historians Dr Ina Bertrand and Dr Bill Routt.
