Hundreds of moving image clips from the National Film and Sound Archive can now be explored through australianscreen – a new online resource launched on 18 July 2007. Other contributors include the National Archives of Australia, the ABC, SBS and AIATSIS (Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies).

The site has been developed by the Australian Film Commission in partnership with the Curriculum Corporation, through The Le@rning Federation, and is hosted by AARNet (Australia's Academic Research and Education Network).

Explore clips from more than 500 feature films, television dramas, documentaries, newsreels, historical footage and home movies produced in Australia over the last 100 years.

Many of the works from the NFSA collection were restored as part of their preparation for australianscreen and the NFSA's careful preservation work over the years has meant that all items could be encoded to the highest technical standards possible.
