Synopsis
Based on a short story by Alan Marshall, this featurette is a study of the experiences and relationship of two women. One young and one older, the film unfolds their parallel story of circumstance of both being trapped, one in the present and one in the past, by male definitions of their sexuality.
Background
The film was shot on location in Picton, NSW, and made on a budget of $27,000. Features Ruth Cracknell as the older woman and Elizabeth Crosby as the young woman from the city. The film was distributed theatrically with 35mm blow-up prints and won SAMMY Awards for Best Short Film and Best Actress (Ruth Cracknell). Also won the Silver Award for Short Fiction at the 1977 Australian Film Awards.
