Synopsis

Nervous teenager Danny Clark is so desperate to go out with the beautiful Joanna Johnson, he tells her he owns a Jaguar and then has to quickly acquire one to prove he isn't a liar. Danny is ripped-off by the owner of a dodgy used car yard and it takes all the ingenuity of himself and his maters to extract revenge.

Background

A sweet, romantic comedy from the makers of Malcolm (1986), The Big Steal features a classic performance by Steve Bisley as the sleazy owner of the used car yard. Steve Bisley won Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role at the 1990 AFI Awards.

Composer Phil Judd also won for Best Original Music Score.
